ABOUT ME:
My name is Arthur Mcguigan and I have been a fully qualified Driving Instructor since 1999.
I am a GRADE 6 DRIVING INSTRUCTOR, this is the highest grading possible and currently less than 6% of driving instructors in the United kingdom have achieved this coveted grade.I am also an ORDIT REGISTERED TRAINER, this is the official register of driving instructor training and allows me to train both potential driving instructors wishing to enter the industry, as well as fully qualified driving instructors who would like to improve upon their teaching skills, or advance their CPD (continuing professional development).
I have been successfully training driving instructors since 2004. (For more info see menu bar on left and ORDIT link below).
I am also a highly experienced FLEET REGISTERED TRAINER ,(currently less than 10% of instructors hold this advanced qualification), and have worked in the fleet sector since mid 2004, this fleet diploma enables me to work with individual companies to deliver defensive driving courses to their company drivers, thereby satisfying the company's duty of care to that employee under the health and safety at work laws.
As well as all of the advanced training that I am involved in, I still enjoy working with LEARNER DRIVERS and developing their driving skills to the upper limit of each individual pupils potential.
I have also recently completed an NVQ LEVEL 3 IN DRIVING INSTRUCTION, thus ensuring that my own professional development is kept up to date.
WHY TRAIN WITH A-PLUS?
It has been my aim from the outset to become the very best Driving Instructor that I can, and In order to help me achieve this objective, I have not stood still within an ever changing industry. Instead, I have invested both my own time and money in several advanced training courses to help improve my instructional skills and practical teaching ability.
If you are looking to book driving lessons in the Airdrie or Coatbridge areas, or are interested in starting a new career as a driving instructor in central Scotland and you want be absolutely certain that you will be trained by one of the highest graded and skilled Driving Instructors working in the UK today;
then A-plus School of Motoring is the perfect training provider for you.
There are some driving schools out there claiming that their instructors are among the best in the industry and they have undertaken further training and have the highest pass rates in lanarkshire etc,( this is obviously a ludicrous claim as they can have no way of knowing what other instructor's pass rates are!), however, they usually don't tell you what training courses they have attended or offer any proof to substantiate these claims, they just declare themselves the best and expect the public to believe it.
Before spending any money with these driving schools please ask them to show you their qualifications.

IN SUMMARY:
With around 50,000 driving instructors now on the register the driving instructor industry has become totally over-saturated.With so many instructors and different driving schools to choose from and every one claiming to be the best, it is now harder than ever for members of the public to find top quality instruction.
I hope that the following information is helpful in this regard.
Unfortunately, all instructors are not the same, there are massive differences in skill and teaching ability between instructors at the top and bottom levels within the industry.Please be aware that the old adages of "buy cheap, buy twice" and "you only get what you pay for" are as true when selecting a driving instructor as they are when out shopping for clothes or a new car.
There really is no such thing as cheap driving lessons, the price will always rise after the initial deal ends, however, the skill of the instructor will not.
Even though you may have to pay slightly more on an hourly basis to train with a highly skilled instructor, there is a reason for this, not only will they get you through your test in far less time, (which could actually save you many hundreds of pounds in the long run), you will also go on to be a far safer and aware driver, (which could save your life).
This is why you are unlikely find highly graded driving instructors offering ridiculous lesson prices.
I hope that by publishing all of my qualifications on this website it will set me apart as one of the most professionally qualified and forward thinking driving instructors in the Airdrie and Coatbridge area; whilst giving clients an insight into the extremely high level of instruction that they can expect to enjoy if they undertake training with A-plus School of Motoring.
